I think this would have been very messy. Have you any idea the caliber of machine gun mounted on an A-10?

I know that Warthogs can carry other ordnance, but they tend to be heavily loaded with depleted uranium 30mm slugs, firing at nearly 4000 rounds per minute. That's 65 shells the size of your fist slamming into the target every second!

Of course, the A-10 could have been carrying a ton or so of bombs and missiles instead, but it still seems like overkill for personnel in the open. Use of available resources, I suppose.

That's quite a silly photo/icon. The post reminds me of the innocent sperm whale being created then hitting the ground and going splat. Perhaps if it only had a towel.

Just saw a bizarre news item: A man was taking a boat out to sea to raise awareness of the plight of endangered whales. His trip was cut short when he rammed a whale. Ah, the irony.
