Thanksgiving
It's so easy to obsess about the things that don't go one's way, but this is a week for reflecting on the good things, right? Since I don't expect to spend much time online tomorrow (unlike most work days), here's an incomplete list of some things I'm thankful for:
I'm sure there are a million other things I can add, but I'm tired and need to go veg out and ingest some sugar. All that food at work seems to have infected me with tryptophan or something.
- My beautiful wife, who surely could do better but thinks I'm ok anyhow.
- The boy, who is the most adorable child in the world and is somehow not so terrible at two as expected.
- My job, which is dull and pointless but does pay enough that I'm not starving.
- The apartment we live in, overpriced though it is, for being a decent place to live and for not having too many obnoxious neighbors.
- The probability that
enygma will get a better-paying, less-stressful job starting next week. - Those little presents that she thinks I'm sneaking peaks at, which are secreted about the house in not-so-secret locations (bookshelf?).
- A variety of friends, both real and virtual, for entertaining me and keeping me as sane as can be expected.
- My pumpkin cheesecake went over well at work, so I didn't need to bring any home. I'm making another one tonight, I don't need MORE.
