Time is precious.
Consider, for a moment, a normal couple. They both work 8-5, coming home around 5:30 or so to make dinner, spend 2-3 hours together each night and go to bed, to start again the next day. Four times as much of the day is spent with coworkers than with the family, including that life partner you chose so carefully (if you were smart). Total time spent together each week: 40.
Now, consider another situation. It may strike a chord with some of you. The two members of the couple work opposite shifts, seeing each other for 20-30 minutes at shift change, tag-teaming on parenting duties. They spend the weekends together, but not all of them. Much of each weekend is devoted to doing those chores that are not done during the week, due to the hectic schedules. Total time spent awake and together: 20 hours per week.
Time is so precious.
