My summer

andysocial: (Flames)
OK, here's the schedule for my summer:
20 May through 7 June - Stuck in Tampa. Anyone want to go out to dinner or something? Please?
7-10 June - Hours after returning from the airport, [livejournal.com profile] enygma's father comes to visit. Sure would like time with my wife after a 3-week absence. POUT.
15-16 June - Romantic surprise weekend to pamper the lovely [livejournal.com profile] enygma. Massage, brunch, 4 star dinner, chocolate-covered strawberries and champagne...
24 June - Court date for Alex's adoption. I'll legally be a father, wow.
28 June through 3 July - My cool-ass mom visits, no doubt bringing lots of junk for the boy that he doesn't need but will happily eat or destroy, as appropriate.
15-19 July - Trip to DC.
19 July - My birthday. Still hoping someone may give me that Sony Clie NR70...
Late July - My darling bride's sister and mom and family come out to visit.
27-28 July - Trip to Virginia for a meeting.
16-18 August - Anniversary at a splendiferous B&B in the nature preserve.

Somewhere in there, I'd originally intended to take a couple college classes. Is it any wonder that ain't gonna happen?

Meanwhile, that job offer for nearly double my current salary in New Mexico sure is looming large. Do I want to lose money on my house, leave a town I've grown accustomed to, and pull my family up and away again? To put it another way, do I want a job with no travel involved, that will allow [livejournal.com profile] enygma to finish her degree in a reasonable amount of time while letting us pay our bills down in a fraction of the time we had planned? Time as a family, normal schedule, better pay, different (larger) town that is closer to family... Seems like such a no-brainer, but it's not.
