OK, since that time, I've watched every other worker from Arizona go home. I'm here alone, except for the old man that can't leave until I do, and he's the one with the car.
The system is still not legally allowed to be turned on, a week after it was scheduled and two weeks after I got here. I'm supposed to leave on Friday, and the system is expected to be working on Thursday. That's it, only one day. Much confidence that it will work the first time, I guess. There's no second chance.
Meanwhile, I'm going to the test site every day, sitting in an air-conditioned tent. The tent is so cold I was shivering today. I need a sweater or something, and it's 90 degrees outside. Bizarre life...
