That's one of the things I tell people who wonder why I don't want to move back to Minnesota or Seattle: you never have to shovel "hot."

They say, "we might get cold, but you guys get so hot in the summer."

I never shovel hot out of the driveway.
I never scrape hot off my windshield.
Work is never cancelled for hot.
There are no accidents caused by too much hot on the road.

And so on. :-)

Marquee Text

I've taken to calling it "marquee" text, since it moves like an electronic movie marquee.

Anyway, I don't use AS for things like that, although I do have a mini-tutorial for Fireworks over here. I don't know if it will translate to AS in any way, though. From what I understand, doing the marquee text effect in AS is a huge pain, involving pixel-perfect text alignment or zooming in to 400%...

I was hoping that AS didn't make that text effect and I just didn't know about it. I just realized a week ago that it made a cool underwater effect.

AS and Marquee text

Well, I don't know for certain that AS can't do it easily, but I do it in Fireworks. The folks that use AS tell me that the text doesn't remain live once it's been pulled from PSP to AS, so I'd assume that means you can't do text editing once it's been rendered.

Yep! I do everything the old fashioned way; make all the frames in Adobe then stick them together in AS. I never knew there was another way; I've got to get that Fireworks!
