CIA and FBI
I don't understand how the CIA can be allowed to have agents working for the FBI on a longterm basis. The CIA is foreign intell, and FBI is domestic. The CIA is not supposed to be allowed to operate in the US. Is that a law or just Atty General rule, though?

Intelligence Community
Anyway, we always taught the pillars of the Intell Community were the CIA, FBI, and NSA. There's overt intell from State and Treasury, but they are really poor stepchildren compared to the big three. Those three had very clearly defined roles until last year - CIA was foreign HUMINT, NSA was foreign SIGINT, and FBI was domestic intell. Of course, we all know the FBI is primarily a crime-fighting organization, but they have always had an intell component. To have CIA agents augmenting them now seems incongruous, as if they never had any intelligence capability themselves. I guess they just sucked before. :-)
