OK, anyone familiar with downtown San Diego, you have to help me.

For some reason, I have got the name "Henry's" stuck in my head. About 15 years ago, I went to a sandwich shop in downtown SD, I think named Henry's. It had a smokehouse in the back, where they smoked their own hams. They had a menu with only 3 items on it - BBQ ham, BBQ beef, and combination. They sold sandwiches that kicked serious ass, and had about 3 tables in their narrow storefront. Sodas were in a cooler, and chips on a rack.

Does this place still exist? Do I have the name right? And, what's the address? Hey, I could make it to SD again sometime soon. Depends on the Navy test schedule...

Recommended Dishes: Henry’s offers a daily special, which invariably, it seems, receives raves by the server who describes it simply as "the bomb." Sandwich choices include BBQ beef, ham or a combo, served with your choice of a side — coleslaw, macaroni salad, potato salad or BBQ beans.

Dinner-style plates are offered as well, and are accompanied by barbecue beans and your choice of salad. Choose from barbecue turkey, pork ribs, chicken, or a combo plate, but save room for dessert because they make a killer sweet potato pie (if the cops haven’t already gotten to it, that is).
