This is an interesting new twist on the battle between music downloaders and bands/labels. The new Foo Fighters album has an accompanying DVD (and I think the new 3 Doors Down does the same thing) with cool content, such as a couple music videos and screensavers, etc. Also, the CD will launch you to a website where you can stream cover songs the Foos recorded. Alas, this is where my pathetic dialup connection fails me, but that's to be expected.

And, I can rip the CD to play on my MP3 player just fine, thank you very much, RIAA.

The new Disturbed CD contains interactive CDROM features which are actually quite irritating when you put the CD in your computer to listen to it. Loading the CD for playback automatically launches the "special features", which I guess are meant to be "cool", but are in fact really annoying.

The CD is excellent, however. :)

Autorun

Yeah, the autorun feature is a pain, and I am no fan of any CD (or CDROM) which immediately takes over my entire screen when put in the drive.

So, I rip all my new CDs and listen to them as MP3 files. :-)

I rip all my CD's, and burn them to new CD's as mixed batches of music. It's like the radio minus DJ's and commercials.
