Cross on RNC Lectern

If you saw the RNC at all, you know the podium had a less-than-subtle cross on it. Some people objected.

Karl Rove told CNN he did not think the podium's decorative woodwork looked like a cross.
"My God, where do they come up with this stuff?" he said. "Does it look to you like it's a cross? I don't think so."

Yeah, right.

That complaint is a measure of both the desparation and emotionally disordered minds of the Democrats.

So, do you not see a cross? Do you think that the marketing wizards attached to the RNC made something that looks pretty close to a cross on accident? Or do you just think it's not an important issue?

Frankly, you can "see a cross" in almost any design that that consists of one or more verticals combined with one or more horizonatals.

And recall that the pattern of a cross is an expression of the golden mean and therefore a fundamental design element apart from any religious significance.

To claim that the cross design would be used without religious significance is pretty disingenuous. The political parties are pretty savvy marketers; they wouldn't put up something cross-like with the intent of invoking the spirit of Aristophenes.

I've always been told to respect my elders, but you've taken a flimsy point and beaten into absurdity. I think perhaps you have gone senile. To confuse a cross in the sense of the Christian symbol with a cross such as a road intersection is so deliberately obtuse as to be retarded.
