Been surfing the "random users" feature for a few minutes, trying to find ideas for new LJ Styles (rather unproductive at that task). There are a surprising number of folks that have journals with absolutely NO public entries. Um, why bother? Just use email or something. :-)

I know people who have livejournals so that other people can list them as friends and they can read the friends-only posts. They themselves have no interest in keeping a journal.

I suppose that is a bit odd. I could imagine using livejournal that way, but I have no interest in it. All of my posts are public. I could imagine putting some friends-only posts, but it's just not what I want. But I guess some people just want the convenience of a site already designed with tools for keeping a journal, rather than a public journal environment. And well, my most current web site is setup with bunches of password-protected sections. So I guess I can't find that ~too~ odd.
