More LJ oddities
OK, so why would you make a style for your main LJ page where you set the table width to 150 pixels? Yeah, 10 characters per line is nifty. It's almost like trying to read a pager for 20 minutes at a time. Holy hand grenade, Batman! Although, this particular person did at least have his fonts set to a relative size, but that just meant that the reader could make the line hold 15 REALLY TINY characters, or 4 HUGE ones. Still doesn't help you read that ribbon of text.
And, no, this was not an artistic statement. Or, if it was, it was just annoying.
Am I in a pissy mood tonight or what?

Rant mode on
Best combination to annoy the hell out of me, running in 1152x864, is a site with fonts coded to 12 pixels or 8 point, and a table that takes up a miniscule fraction of the available browser window. There is something to be said (although very little) for coding your site to look good at the minimum of 640x480, but I check mine in multiple browser resolutions (all hail Dreamweaver) to make sure it won't be fugly for any significant portion of the possible viewers. But, that's a different rant, that meanders off into reading log analysis files and such. :-)
