Does anyone else set their "friends" colors to approximate the color scheme the friend in question uses on their own journal? So, now you know how I do it. Explains some of those fugly colors, eh? It's not me, it's the other guys. heh

I set them to colors that remind me of the person. Like Lucyfer-before she ran off to England on me- was red and black. It just seemed so her to me. Warm colors- warm people, shocking colors- shocking people. Whatever!

Yeah, that's what I did at first, and so I ended up with WhoryLori being purple and hot-pink (whory colors, no?) and so forth.

But, I'm no longer feeling that creative, so I just sneak a peak at the main journal, and swipe those colors.

Of course, if they CHANGE them, it's not up to me to keep checking their site. I read my Friends page, so I can see MANY people's entries at once. :-)

I considered doing that, but there was too much overlap. It seems most of the journals I read have black backgrounds. I wanted to be able to sort through my friends page to find specific people at a glance. And then I'm using the text color to group people by categories for how I know them. If I ever increase my friends page significantly then this might be useful.

Hmmm, that's an interesting idea: grouping by how known. Of course, all but two of my "friends" are actually complete strangers known only in the confines of LJ.

I noticed the heavy dependence on black backgrounds myself, but I just chose some of them to swap foreground and background, to spice things up.

This is just the latest reorganization of my "friends" visualizations, I'm sure I'll change again sometime.
