How many people put themselves as their own friend, so they can have one page that includes their own posts as well as their online contacts' postings? And, why? Do you forget what you'd written?
Just hopped over here from Ms. Gardengnome's journal and I have to say I'm glad to see I'm not the only one wondering about that. Heh, I barely go back and read what I write...lord knows I don't need to see myself on my friend's page!
Since I am on a dialup connection at home, I keep my Friends page to 20 entries (unlike gringo_in_tj's 50 entries), so I am not gonna fill it up with my own boring entries. :-)
I hate hatehate dialup! I had a cable modem for two years, and then moved here where there is no broadband available. NONE. And, the phonelines suck so bad that my 56k connection putters along at 24-31k most days, with occasional surges to 40k.
Oh my...that just goes beyond bad. Having cable for two years only to be thrown back into the dinosaur dial-up age! Where the hell do you live that they have NO braodband??
The awesome town of Sierra Vista in southeastern Arizona.
The local cable company, the same one I had in Texas with the broadband connection, has "no plans" to bring the internet access here. Meanwhile, I get to watch all those damned "ride the light" ads from Qwest (no plans for DSL) and Cox Internet. Yeah, just call your local provider, who will laugh at you or just say, "the inna-what?"
Heh. I can see me sitting on the edge of my chair salivating over the TV commericals promising instant inna-what access. Man, I have it much better than I ever knew.

At least there is a rational explanation, though. I hate to think people are being irrational. :-)

Re: Time
I'm hearing you on that though. If I want to be reminded how dumb I am, I'll take the extra step and click another link. :)
Dialup Sucks
I miss my ethernet connection at home. :-(
